We all need more time. Some of us are looking for more time to get all of our work done; others are looking for time to relax from their labors. Somes are looking for more time with significant people in their lives; others are looking for more alone time. And most of us would say that we would like to be able to spend more time getting to know God. What would you do if you had more time?
Newsflash – there’s no more time that can be squeezed into your day, your week or your life. What you have is what you get…and what everyone else gets as well. The real question is how we will use the time we have.
If you’re one of those people who have been struggling with time and knowing how to get everything done in the time you have AND if you’re also one of those people who have struggled specifically to find time for God, may I suggest one possible solution? A friend of mine from college and a former roommate from after college is contributing to the Today devotional booklet. We give them out at church. You can also sign up to have them delivered to you via email (sign up here) each day. They don’t take much time, but they do take your mind and focus it on God for a few moments. And those few moments might be just what you need to focus your attention for the rest of the day on what God wants to do with the time He has entrusted to you.
