I had the chance to be at church tonight. The place was hoppin’ with people. At 5:30, the Garden and Grow group met to start planting in the garden. While the garden doesn’t look that different yet, you can anticipate seeing: radishes, cucumbers, potatoes, beans, cantaloupe, squash and peas. In the future, there will also be more squash planted, watermelons, tomatoes and…the rest depends on what you want to plant! If you know of people who are looking for some great soil to plant in and some great people to garden with, let them know they’re welcome anytime! Along with planting, we also eat together and are working through a book on the Gardens of the Bible. It looks to be very interesting!
At 6:00, the GEMS started their final meeting of the night. As we’ve noticed with morning worship services, when the GEMS have special events and invite the parents, the turn-out is great! At the same time, the Cadets were meeting in another room, working on airplanes. And in yet another room, a group was meeting to discuss the Boundaries book.
At 7:00, Ignite began their weekly meeting. They were spread throughout the building as they used a technological means of breaking into groups and asking questions of each other. If you want to know more about it, go to the blog at www.ignite-bethel.com.
It was tough to find a quiet spot to meet. But I can tell you this: I wouldn’t have it any other way. There were long-time members of Bethel meeting with new members of Bethel meeting with people from the community. There were kids with Bethel as their church home and kids from other congregations and kids who count Bethel as their home, but whose parents are certainly not part of our congregation. It was fun!

It was a great night to be at Bethel Church!!! The only problem I had was trying to figure out how to capture pictures of it all going on. A challenge yes, but with the help of others, we did capture a lot of the excitement. Looks like Pastor Cal was able to give you an idea of all the action. Wednesday nights are definitely the place to be if you want to meet up with others! Try it out!
